The Grand Canyon, located in Arizona, at 277 miles long with a depth of over one mile is the longest deepest canyon in the United States which exposes the most complete geologic column on the plant. This area of the canyon is a 61-mile drive to a very remote location seldom traveled by canyon seeking tourist. At over 4,000 feet down from the edge Shreve captured this image on an early spring morning as the sun rose with the Colorado river flowing below.
